Pennsylvania Downtown Center to Host Two-Day Event in Honor of 25th Anniversary

Harrisburg, Pa. -- Pennsylvania Downtown Center (PDC) will host a two-day workshop on community-owned businesses and venture capital funds, June 25 - 26, 2012, at the Hilton Harrisburg. On the evening of June 25, PDC will celebrate its twenty-fifth anniversary with a gala dinner, also at the Hilton Harrisburg, MC'd by executive director Bill Fontana and featuring notable events that and individuals who have proven invaluable to the organization's success over the years.

The workshop portion of the event will be led by Josh Bloom of the Alexandria, Va.-based CLUE Group, and Barry Denk of the Center for Rural Pennsylvania. Bloom will present an in-depth, how-to look at the benefits of and means by which to develop community-owned businesses. Denk's portion of the session will feature information on inter-generational wealth transfer in Pennsylvania as the foundation for creating local venture capital funds.

The cost to register is $125 for PDC members and $150 for non-members, and the anniversary dinner is included in the registration cost.
