There is No Place for Hate in Our Communities
Pennsylvania Downtown Center, along with the National Main Street Center mourns the lives lost in Tuesday’s shooting targeted at the Asian American community in Atlanta, and resolutely stands against the exponential rise of anti-Asian violence in our country. There have been 3,800 incidents of anti-Asian racism in the U.S. in the last year alone, which is a 150% increase from the year before. We must reject racism in all its forms everywhere, every time.
We do not tolerate racism, xenophobia, or violence of any kind and reaffirm our commitment to being advocates for organizations, networks, and communities that are free of discrimination in all its forms. The dignity of every person must be honored and respected in our public spaces. Take action and support Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities, and counter hateful acts of violence:
- Report a hate incident
- Attend a free bystander intervention training to stop anti-Asian harassment
- View a list of resources
