Healthy Communities Program Manager
As the Healthy Communities Program Manager, Samantha is continuing the work of Carol Reichbaum with the PA WalkWorks program, promoting active transportation in core communities around the state. Samantha has previously worked in architecture and urban planning in various parts of the US as well as briefly abroad. That work has included a range of projects from new construction to historic preservation and college and university planning in many regions of the country. She has an undergraduate BA with a major in architecture from Princeton University and a Masters of Architecture as well as a Certificate in American Urbanism from the University of Virginia. From 2013 to mid-2021 she served as the Elm Street Manager in Lewisburg, PA where she led a combination of flood mitigation, conservation, preservation, and active transportation efforts. She also has a long list of community service credits to her name including work with the Lycoming Tri-County NAACP, the Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way Diversity and Inclusion Impact Council, and the Otzinachson Group of the Sierra Club. During the pandemic she has been proud to be part of the Lycoming County-based Let’s end COVID! community public health project.
Samantha is a lifelong walker and bike rider and looks forward to joining the project of cultivating smart mobility for all in PA. Her recent work in that area has included launching Walk It! Bike It! Lewisburg, being part of the new Middle Susquehanna Active Transportation Committee, and helping the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs to bring hands-on, full-day Complete Streets workshops to several communities around the state. Is your community ready to step up your efforts to ensure safe and enjoyable mobility for all? Let’s make it happen!
